## Key Concepts

The Leave Request Report is a company-wide grid of every leave request, not only your own. Managers and administrators use it to see who is off, on vacation, sick leave or any other leave type, and when, across the company.

## Performing Common Tasks

### Accessing the Report

The Leave Request Report is available to users with Administrator or Manager permissions.

On the dashboard, in the **Leave Requests** card, click **Leave Request Report**.

### Understanding the Data

![Leave Request Report View](https://getjobbook.com/_astro/leave-request-report.B9bJSTeZ.png)

*Every leave request in the company on one grid, for the Managers and Administrators who need to know who is off and when.*

The twelve columns run left to right in this order:

* **LR #**: The request number. Click it to open that request.
* **Employee**: The name of the employee who submitted the request.
* **Job #**: The leave job the request is on. Click it to open the job.
* **Leave Type**: The type of leave requested.
* **Manager**: The manager responsible for approving the request.
* **Leave Period**: Whether the request is for **Full Day(s)** or a **Partial Day**.
* **Request Start**: The date the leave starts.
* **Start Time**: The time a partial-day request starts. Empty for a full-day request.
* **Request End**: The date the leave ends.
* **End Time**: The time a partial-day request ends. Empty for a full-day request.
* **Submitted**: The date the leave request was submitted by the employee.
* **Status**: The current status of the request, which can be **Not Submitted**, **Submitted**, **Approved** or **Rejected**. **Submitted** is the one to watch: it means the request is waiting on its manager.

The report opens sorted by **LR #**, newest first (the header carries a downward arrow). Drafts are included, so
the report holds every request the list's **All** view holds.

The toolbar above the grid starts with **Export to Excel**, then the template controls, and ends with a record
count. In the screenshot above it reads "Showing 16 of 16 leave request(s)": the first number is the rows
currently on screen and the second is the rows the report holds, so the count is how you confirm a filter took
effect.

### Sorting and Filtering

The Leave Request Report is a report grid: sorting, filtering, choosing columns, templates and **Export to Excel** are all described on [Report Grids](https://getjobbook.com/help/Report_Grids).

For example, to find all approved leave requests for one employee, filter **Employee** with **Contains** and part of the name, then tick **Approved** under **Status**. The count in the toolbar confirms what is left.

### Navigating the Report

The paging bar at the foot of the report carries first, previous, page-number, next and last buttons, an items
per page dropdown and, at the right-hand end, a count of the items on the page out of the items in the report.

The items per page dropdown opens on **100**. That is a default, not a limit: change it and the report repages
to the size you pick.
